What is actually in Kargil
Apricot is the signature crop — roughly 1,675 hectares and about 9,800 tonnes a year, with Raktsay Karpo the district's One District One Product line — alongside barley, wheat and vegetables in the Suru and Wakha-Rong valleys. The rest is garrison supply and NH-1 haulage, LAHDC and line-department salaries, and a transit tourist season on the Srinagar road that fell by more than 70 per cent in 2025.
Places in and around Kargil include Kargil, Sankoo, Shergole, Shakar-Chiktan, Mulbekh and Panikhar.
What that means for a guarding contract here
The guardable estate sits in and around a town of about 16,000: the district hospital, LAHDC and line-department offices, fuel stations and NH-1 truck halts, apricot grading and cold stores, plus telecom masts and substations an hour or more apart up the Suru and Wakha valleys.
Whose licence covers your site in Kargil
PSARA is the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005. Under it each state issues its own licences to private security agencies, and a licence for one state does not cover a site in another. Before you sign, we confirm in writing which PSARA licence covers your site in Kargil district, ours or a PSARA-licensed partner agency’s. We also confirm which agency holds it, and whose officers would be on your site. Where the licence is a partner agency’s, we say so. We will not present its officers as our own employees.
How deploying actually works in Kargil
Kargil is thinly populated. Travel time, not headcount, is the binding constraint. We have to resource relief cover locally, because a replacement despatched from the nearest city will not arrive inside a shift. We plan a local bench before we quote a response time, rather than promising one we would have to drive to.
None of that changes the standard we work to, but it changes the plan that meets it. We agree the plan that meets it with you, in writing, before you sign.

Due diligence
Common questions about a security company in Kargil
Which PSARA licence covers a security guard site in Ladakh?
Each state issues its own PSARA licence, so only a licence issued for Ladakh covers a site in Ladakh. Before you sign, we put in writing the licence that covers your site there, ours or a PSARA-licensed partner agency’s, and the agency that holds it.
How can I check that a security agency deposits PF and ESI for its guards?
Ask for the monthly PF and ESI challans for the officers on your site, not a registration certificate. Premier Shield is a registered employer under the EPF and ESI Acts and provides the monthly challans on request; where a PSARA-licensed partner agency’s officers are on your site, you receive that agency’s challans.
How long does it take to deploy security guards in Kargil?
Mobilisation is 7 days from a signed contract and replacement after attrition is 48 hours. Both are company standards, to which conditions apply, and your agreement sets them for your site. Armed posts and K9 teams take longer, and we give you a dated plan rather than a promise.
What kinds of site need security guards in Kargil?
The guardable estate sits in and around a town of about 16,000: the district hospital, LAHDC and line-department offices, fuel stations and NH-1 truck halts, apricot grading and cold stores, plus telecom masts and substations an hour or more apart up the Suru and Wakha valleys. Your agreement sets the post plan.
