Accessibility
Every reader.
Every screen.
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or high-contrast settings.
Our standard
We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, and we test every type of page against them on phones, tablets and desktops.
Using the site
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone. A “Skip to content” link is the first stop.
- Menus open and close from the keyboard, and the Escape key closes them.
- Text can be enlarged to 200 per cent, and pages reflow to a narrow screen without sideways scrolling.
- Pages adapt to phones, tablets and desktops, held upright or on their side.
- The site respects the “reduce motion” and “high contrast” settings of your device.
Pictures, forms and the film
- Pictures that carry information have a text description.
- Forms have visible labels, say which fields are required, and report mistakes in text.
- The film on the home page and on the Since 1976 page has no sound track, so there is nothing to caption. Its player has a written description for screen readers.
Tell us if something is hard to use
Write to premier@premiershield.com and say which page and what went wrong. We will reply within one working day and, where we cannot fix it straight away, tell you another way to get the same information.
