Event security is the access control, screening and crowd management a venue needs from load-in to load-out. Premier Shield plans it to the National Disaster Management Authority’s 2014 crowd-management guide, with a written risk assessment and FMEA sheet before doors, a briefing and dry run with the deployed team, and a named incident controller on site.

What the team does

The event security functions a mass-gathering venue needs

Drawn from section 3.5.4 of the National Disaster Management Authority’s 2014 guide to managing crowds at events and venues of mass gathering.

Pre-planning

Working with the organiser, walking the venue, and agreeing criteria for the use of force in advance.

Access and screening

Frisking behind door-frame metal detectors and baggage screening at entry.

Flow and barricades

Queue-holding areas, barricade staffing and regulating the flow of the crowd.

Sweeps and drills

Anti-sabotage sweeps, and a dry run and mock drill before the event.

Due diligence

Common questions

Do we need a separate security licence for each Indian state our tour visits?

Your agency does, not you. Each state issues its own PSARA licences, so an agency deploying in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru needs a valid licence in each. For a tour we confirm in writing, before you sign, which licence covers each city and whether a PSARA-licensed partner agency delivers any leg, so you know before the first date who is on the ground at every stop.

What standard do you plan crowd security to?

The National Disaster Management Authority’s 2014 guide to managing crowds at events and venues of mass gathering: the security functions in section 3.5.4, and the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis recommended in section 3.3.2.2. It is guidance rather than law, and we work to it.

What is the difference between bouncers and trained crowd security?

A PSARA-licensed agency deploys a crowd security officer on a compliant payroll, briefed against a written plan and part of a command structure with a named controller. That is the arrangement you can defend in an inquiry.

How far in advance should you engage us?

In time for the written assessment before doors, and earlier for anything needing armed cover, a K9 team or coordination with local police. For a multi-city tour, engage at the routing stage.

Do you handle artist, speaker and VIP protection as well?

Yes, through our executive protection team, planned together with the crowd plan so a principal never moves through a crowd the plan did not anticipate.
