In Karnataka the first question is often what sits in the godown. Graded coffee in the curing works and estate warehouses of Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu, arecanut in Shivamogga's market yards, Byadgi chilli in Haveri's cold stores, copra at Tiptur and raisins in Vijayapura's grading yards all hold stock of high value for its size, so stock supervision and gate control matter more than perimeter length. Sugar factory campuses in Belagavi, Bagalkot and Mandya fill through the crushing season, with weighbridge supervision at Bagalkot's mills, and the dal mills of Kalaburagi and Yadgir and the rice mills of Raichur and Koppal build stock season by season.

Around Bengaluru the profile turns to manufacturing and logistics. Bidadi and Harohalli in Bengaluru South, the airport-adjacent cargo warehouses, the highway warehousing at Hoskote and Dabaspete and the apparel factories at Doddaballapura in Bengaluru Rural, and the Narasapura, Malur and Vemgal belt in Kolar run shift patterns, gate and vehicle screening and strict material accounting. Bengaluru itself adds multi-tenant tech parks with round-the-clock access control and visitor management. Further north, the ore yards and plant gates of the Ballari-Toranagallu corridor and the Hosapete steel cluster, the cement plants and rail sidings of Wadi, Shahabad and Sedam, and the foundries of Udyambag in Belagavi carry continuous shifts.

The coast and the open dryland set different terms. Refinery, petrochemical and fertiliser plants around Mangalore work under hazardous-area access rules, with port and SEZ gates beside them, and the university and teaching-hospital campuses of Manipal carry continuous public footfall. The fishing harbour at Malpe adds its cold stores. In Chitradurga, Gadag and Pavagada, wind and solar substations spread across open farmland and call for remote-site patrolling rather than a single gate, while Hampi, Shravanabelagola, Belur and Halebidu bring crowds that are planned for as well as guarded.
