Delhi's district map was redrawn at the start of 2026, so a site here is better described by the ground it stands on than by the district name it once carried. In the old city and the trading belts, wholesale bazaars hold high-value stock with no setback from the street, lanes are too narrow for patrol vehicles, and market hours run well past midnight. Karol Bagh's jewellery, garment and auto-parts markets, the Kirti Nagar furniture market and Mayapuri's scrap and used auto-parts yards add fire and theft to the brief.

The overnight markets set a different rhythm. Azadpur's fruit and vegetable mandi and the Ghazipur mandis trade through the night, and loading, waste traffic and shift changes peak in the small hours. Industry is spread wide: the planned estate at Bawana, Wazirpur's hot-rolling sheds, the Patparganj industrial area and Okhla's three phases, where export garment and pharmaceutical units hold bonded stock behind shift gates. In the north-east colonies around Seelampur and Karawal Nagar, the difficulty is access rather than scale, with lanes too tight for vehicles and no setback anywhere.

New Delhi is a separate discipline: ministries, the Chanakyapuri embassy belt, courts, hotels and the NDMC estate, where screening, escorting and auditable access records matter far more than headcount, and every deployment works around VIP movement, protest days and restricted roads. Further south and west, malls, hospitals and university campuses, the farmhouse and banqueting belt around Mehrauli and Chhatarpur, the airport landside at Mahipalpur and Aerocity, the Dwarka courts and convention centre and the farms around Najafgarh bring event-driven night cover and long distances between sites.
